Like the majority of  notable Melbourne bars,  Penny Blue is located in a laneway off a lane.. Housed in the orignal Money Order Office bulding , sister building  and adjacent to the iconic Melbourne GPO, stroll  down Lt Bourke St turning into Driver Lane and you will find an intimate lounge, filled with striking furniture  and warm lighting to enjoy our bar grazing menu and alluring beverages. Penny Blue is  open Monday till Saturday and licenced till 1am with capacity for 100 guests (open on Sundays for private functions). Penny Blue is also perfect for pre-drinks before heading downstairs to our sister restaurant MOO.

 

Since opening in August 2007 and without any advertising, Penny Blue has featured in  Melbourne's

three main papers; The Age, The Herald Sun and MX as well as Sunday Magazine, Gourmet Traveller,

Fashion Journal Magazine, Bars and Clubs and Deck of  Secrets.

 

Our regular DJ's playing from 6pm on Fridays, can also be seen playing  the occasional Thursday and

Saturday nights. Enjoy the chill house, funk, modern jazz tunes while sipping away in our seductive lounge, or while watching silent movies from our laneway projector in the outdoor smoking area.
